Our team has over 80 years combined experience in fields and industries such as Healthcare, Fire Service and EMS, Civil Rights, Labor and Employment Law, Class Action Lawsuits, Marketing and Promotions, Counseling, Emergency Management and Response, Writing, Editorial and Publishing Expertise, Human Resources, High Level Media Relations, Human Rights Commission, University Level Distance Education, Large and Small Event Management and Coordination.
Shannon is a certified life coach with over 30 years experience in various fields and industries. She has worked and lived in the greater metro Washington, DC area, New York, Seattle and Oregon.
Marketing, promotions and business process improvement runs in her veins. She comes from a long family line of entrepreneurs and enjoys helping others navigate the path of owning their own business, finding their perfect career fit and/or achieving their educational goals!
Her favorite job was working in media relations for a Labor and Employment law firm that handled class action, civil rights lawsuits on behalf of the Black Agents of the Secret Service, FBI and ATF and Hispanic Agents of U.S. Customs. She worked to get high level media coverage for the cases that included coordination of press conferences at the National Press Club that were attended by members of the press from Good Morning America, CNN, and other major news networks and a front cover story on U.S. News and World Report. This job blended her passion for civil rights and social justice, her love of marketing and promotions and her experience in Human Resources and event coordination into the perfect job fit.
Another favorite job of Shannon’s was coordinating and running the University of Oregon Distance Education Program. Shannon enjoyed working with students of all ages and helping them achieve academic success through distance learning. She specialized in working with student athletes at all levels from high school to college, pro-level and even olympians.
Shannon has also worked in Human Resources at one of the big four accounting firm in Washington, D.C. and has experience working with recruiters in various industries.
Dennis Murphy is a retired Fire Chief and is an award winning, recognized leader, national speaker and journal writer in the field of EMS. As Fire Chief, he ran a department of paramedic level fire fighters (dual role Fire Fighter/Paramedics) with a million dollar plus budget.
Dennis created and implemented the ambulance membership program known as FireMed which includes FireMed Plus with LifeFlight air ambulance coverage. His goal was to make an ambulance ride affordable to anyone who needed it.
Prior to its inception, he worked tirelessly to change the insurance laws in the state of Oregon so that FireMed could become a reality. This included coordination of transporting busloads of senior citizens with him to testify in Salem, the state capitol.
Dennis also specializes in rental property management.
Dawn Pennington has spent the past two decades as a financial editor, writer and department head for several top financial publishing houses — including Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.-based Weiss Ratings LLC, Baltimore-based Agora Publishing and Washington, D.C.-based Phillips Investment Resources — gaining a top-notch trading education alongside some of the most-prolific traders and investors in the country.
She spent the early part of her career as a grantwriter in the nonprofit sector, with another few years spent as a journalist in the mental health field. (Which, she finds, comes in handy when assessing the stock market and the sentiment that drives it.)
Although Dawn is well-versed in options, stocks, ETFs, futures, technical analysis, cryptocurrencies,natural resources, and other trading strategies her favorite part of financial publishing is the opportunity to work alongside the industry’s top experts to help them translate “Trader’s English” into easy-to-understand, actionable articles for investors of all skill levels.
Dawn is a Washington, D.C., expat who currently resides in South Florida. She is currently the Editorial Director/Associate Publisher at Dallas-based Mauldin Economics.
Alexandria is our technical support specialist and oversees our website, maintains our computer equipment and will coordinate and manage our social media presence. She currently resides in the Washington, DC area and is an animal lover with her own personal zoo including two Alaskan Malamutes, a Husky-Lab, two cats, a bird, a bunny and a turtle named Bob. Alexandria is the past president of her high school’s Black Student Union, is an avid volunteer and is interested in politics. She is a also a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and 80’s music and loves to read.
